Babri Mosque Demolition Case: Indian CBI Court Acquits All 32 Accused

In the Babri Mosque demolition case, all accused including L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi acquitted. A special CBI court in India ruled it 28 years after the demolition of the Babri Mosque framework.

The court has acquitted all the accused including former Indian deputy prime minister L.K. Advani and BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi. The court said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) failed to collect evidence against the accused. There is no strong evidence, Judge Surendra Yadav said while delivering the verdict on Wednesday. The leaders tried to stop the mob, saying the incident was not pre-planned.

Truth wins in line with Satyamev Jayate: CM Yogi

In the Babri Masjid demolition case, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the verdict of a special CBI court. He said the truth has won in accordance with Satyamev Jayate. He has apologized to the people of the country responsible for the conspiracy.

26 accused in court:

Vinay Katiyar, Sakshi Maharaj, Sadhvi Rishtambhara, Chandpat Rai, Ram Vilas Vendati, Satish Pradhan, Dharamdas, Pawan Pandey, Brij Bhushan Singh, Jaybhagwan Goyal, Omprakash Pandey, Ramchandra Khatri, Sudhir Kakkar, Amarnath Goel, Santosh Dubey, Lallu Singh, Kamlesh Tripathi, Vijay Bahadur Singh, Acharya Dharmendra, Prakash Sharma, Jaybhaan Pavaiya, Dharmendra Singh, R.N. Srivastava, Vinay Kumar, Naveen Shukla and Gandhi Yadav were present in the court.

CBI tells Babri Mosque demolition not a result of planned conspiracy

On December 6, 1992, the disputed Babri Masjid framework was demolished in Ayodhya. In the Babri Mosque demolition case, 49 accused including Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Bala Saheb Thackeray, Ram Vilas Vedanta, and Uma Bharti were made accused. Of them, 32 were now alive.

CBI launched a probe since 1993

The Babri Mosque case was handed over to the CBI on August 27, 1993. The case lasted for 26 years. But on April 19, 2017, the Indian Supreme Court had ordered a hearing on the matter and said that a judge would not be transferred until the case was over.
