7 Bedroom Design Ideas to Boost Mental Health

Bedroom Design Ideas

Your bedroom is the single most crucial place in your life. It is like heaven, where you can come and do whatever you like. Now imagine coming home and not having a single place to relax and unwind! This sure sounds like a horror story.

A poorly designed bedroom contributes more to mental illness than we can imagine. A well-planned bedroom acts as a de-stressor and helps with the subjective feeling of being at home.

This blog will discuss some of the bedroom designs for mental health by best architects in Lahore. You’ll get answers to most of your questions regarding what it takes to build a modern bedroom design for mental health.

We will also discuss how to create a good bedroom for mental health. As a construction and best interior designing company, we know what concerns you the most.

1. An Absolute Yes to Colours

Colour has the power to impact our mood directly. That is why colour selection is the most indecisive stage of bedroom design. Cool colours such as pink, green, and blue aren’t only mood enhancers but induce calming effects to improve mental well-being. So always choose colours that are your favourite and are light in hue.

Additionally, colours are mood elevators when used in the correct proportion as they make the small room look less cluttered. The right combination can be cheerful energy colours such as beige, yellow, pale green and others, which are there but don’t need your constant attention.

2. Make your bedroom anxiety-free

Do you use your mobile before going to sleep? And it’s also the first thing you look for in the morning. Let me tell you, the presence of tech gadgets in the bedroom induces distraction, anxiety and stress among people because Blue light emitting from these gadgets interferes with sleep. Also, consistent noise pollution doesn’t let your senses relax. Your bedroom should be free of tech gadgets and act as a media-free room.

Your bedroom should also be free of tech gadgets such as PlayStations, game consoles and other devices that can distract your piece of mind. As the idea of remote work is picking up pace, it is becoming common for people to bring their laptops to their bed, which causes anxiety. However, you can make a separate room for this purpose.

3. Make your bedroom peaceful

Adding plants to your room purifies the air, fostering mental health and a peaceful environment. The green colour is also associated with nature, which soothes the mind and relaxes you. You can add the following plants for style and relaxation:

  • Snake Plant
  • Heart Leaf Philodendron
  • Areca Palm
  • Gardenia
  • Aloe Vera

In addition to the colours these plants will add to the room, these plants are also great medically. For example, Aloe Vera has skin-healing properties, making it an ideal candidate for your bedroom.

4. Decorate Your Room for mental health

Bedroom design and mental well-being are highly correlated. A cluttered environment leads to a chaotic mind. That is why bedroom decoration design is vital to feeling relaxed and at peace. Your bedroom décor should be minimal for de-stressing, organisation, and a clear thinking process. You can add dim lights and light colour sheets for more aesthetics.

You can also use some small Chinese gadgets popular on the internet that are handy and inexpensive to declutter and organise your room.

5. Night Light for Sleep

Dark and shady bedrooms leave you depressed, while too bright light induces anxiety and lack of sleep. So, what colour is ideal for your bedroom for the night? Research shows that Moderate to warm lights are suitable as they emit less harsh light and create a cosy ambience. Moderate colour light, especially those in yellow wavelength, is also helpful in improving your circadian rhythms and inducing good sleep. This means a good start to the day full of energy.

6. Small Things Go a Long Way

If you are looking to create a relaxing bedroom interior, make sure to engage all five senses, such as

  • Calming paint for sight
  • Close proximity of furniture and windows for hearing
  • Natural and healing candle scent for smell
  • Textured surface for touch
  • Snacking table for taste

Engaging all five senses is a psychological technique for relaxation and reduced anxiety. That is why using colour, sound, visuals, touch, and the aroma of your room will help you relax.

7- Use Perfume and Oud for Your Room

You are at work, exhausted, and want to return to your room as soon as possible. Seeing your room is one thing, having a good fragrance room is just another. Use a loud and woody smell for your room to feel fresh so the only scent of it makes you feel relaxed, anxiety-free and free of negative thoughts. You can use inexpensive gels that emit the perfect odour for your room. It should not be overwhelming and add a relaxing touch to your room.
