UK Starts Roll-out of Pfizer’s Covid-19 Vaccine

UK Coronavirus vaccine

The first ever vaccination for the disease, Coronavirus, has been launched in the UK on Tuesday. Last week, the UK government approved a vaccine jointly made by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German biotech company BioNtech, BBC reports.

Health workers in the country are at the forefront of the priority-based vaccine. The vaccine will also be available to the elderly and care home workers over 80 years of age. Health department workers started vaccination on Tuesday morning. The second dose will be given within three weeks of the first vaccine and each will be kept under close observation.

However, vaccines are not mandatory. No one will give it to him if he doesn’t want it.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “Today is the day to take big steps to combat the Coronavirus. However, the winter programs that are being undertaken in the area have to be followed. You must wash your hands, cover your face, and keep the distance.”

BBC reports that the vaccine has reached nearly 70 hospital centers and that the Deputy Chief Executive of the National Health Service Department of England (NHS) Safron Cordery has reported that the vaccine has reached 70 hospital centers. “Everything is still fine,” he says.

A 90-year-old woman from Northern Ireland has received the vaccine as the first person in the world. Margaret Keenan who is from Enniskillen said that she felt “so privileged” as she received the jab at the University Hospital, Coventry, AP reports.

However, there is some difficulty in the preservation of the vaccine. At least the vaccine doses have to be stored at a temperature of minus 70 degrees Celsius. A person has to put 975 doses together. The fewer units of it have not yet been divided.

The UK has received 800,000 doses of Pfizer and BioNtech. But the country has ordered four million doses. The vaccine can be given to two million people. Oxford University and AstraZeneca also have a large number of vaccine orders in the country. However, it has not yet received final approval.

According to official data, more than 60,000 people have died from the coronavirus so far. The UK government has said that it is possible to lift the strict restrictions by Next Easter or April if the winter season is followed.
