“Everything Everywhere All at Once” Sweeps Oscars 2023 with Seven Wins

Sunday evening, the 95th Academy Awards were hosted at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The sci-fi film “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, swept the majority of the top categories, including best picture and directing.
 
Michelle Yeoh, the film’s leading lady, received the prize for best actress, becoming the first Asian actress to achieve this distinction. The other award for best actor in a leading role went to Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”), who was also a first-time winner. (Maybe the biggest winner is A24, the studio responsible for both of these films.)
 
“Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” which won for best-animated feature; Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis, each first-time winners for supporting roles in “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”; “Navalny,” which took home the best documentary feature statuette; the costume designer Ruth Carter, who became the first Black woman to win two Oscars (this time for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever“); and “All Quiet
