According to a source familiar with the matter, OpenAI, which has received support from Microsoft, is developing agent software that can automate intricate tasks by assuming control of a user’s device, as reported by The Information.
According to the report, the agent software will take care of various web-based tasks, such as collecting public data about a group of companies, organizing itineraries, and making flight ticket reservations.
The new assistants, often referred to as “agents,” offer the ability to handle a wide range of personal and work tasks with minimal supervision, providing convenience and efficiency to their users.
OpenAI has yet to respond to a request for comment.
The company introduced its ChatGPT chatbot in late 2022, capturing attention with its impressive skills in composing sonnets and crafting emails.
