EOCO-QNET Partnership Results in 320 Arrests During Kumasi Operation

EOCO-QNET Partnership Results in 320 Arrests During Kumasi Operation

On November 6, 2025, Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office executed its largest anti-human trafficking operation to date: 320 arrests across two Kumasi locations, with 25 suspected criminals and 295 identified victims.

The operation targeted networks that falsely used the brand of the direct selling health and wellness company QNET, and represents a continuation of coordinated efforts between law enforcement and the company to combat recruitment fraud.

The Brand Misuse Problem

While QNET’s name has been exploited by bad actors, the company has fought hard to combat these scams, which have no association with the company itself. The company doesn’t charge registration fees, while fraudulent operations do. The real company sells products, while fraudsters sell promises of quick returns and overseas employment opportunities.

EOCO confirmed it’s working with QNET to prevent criminals from using the company’s name to deceive citizens, praising the company for cooperating with investigations. That cooperation reflects years of escalating countermeasures:

QNET’s Anti-Scam Measures Timeline:

  • March 2022: Launched the Mama Campaign, a 360-degree marketing initiative using radio, television, social media, and billboards to educate the public about scam red flags.
  • November 2023: Launched the Say No Campaign, expanding education efforts across Nigeria, Senegal, and Burkina Faso through multilingual billboards, radio campaigns, educational pamphlets, and social media.
  • August 2024: Launched the QNET Against Scams campaign, a six-month initiative across multiple Ghanaian regions, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Ahafo, Volta, Northern, and Bono.
  • July 2025: Opened a Compliance Office as a central coordination point for law enforcement, with Ghana’s Director-General of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officiating. The office serves as a hub for intelligence sharing and coordination
  • Ongoing: Established reporting hotlines (WhatsApp: +233 256 630 005, Email: network.integrity@qnet.net), conducted roadshows with EOCO in communities targeted by job scams, prosecuted 42 individuals for misrepresenting the company, and contributed to the rescue of over 300 victims and repatriation support for foreign nationals deceptively brought to Ghana under false QNET promises

QNET official spokesperson Trevor Kuna addressed the broader scam environment during an appearance on Ghana’s national broadcaster GTV: “The scams don’t stop at mobile money or banking—almost everything is being targeted. First of all, we are a 26-year-old e-commerce direct-selling company offering some of the best products in the industry. We’re here today to help educate the public and empower them with the right information so they can distinguish between pyramid schemes, financial scams, predatory lending, and legitimate direct selling opportunities like QNET.”

QNET’s Business Operations

QNET operates as an e-commerce direct-selling company that distributes wellness and lifestyle products through independent distributors. The company offers over 600 products across various categories, including wellness, home and living, jewellery, and watches.

Products sold in Ghana conform to global standards and are certified by the Ghana Standards Authority, Atomic Energy Commission, and Foods and Drugs Authority. For 2026, the company plans to launch a new range of wearable wellness products and supplements designed to support immunity, energy, and sleep.

In February 2025, QNET hosted its first major African regional convention in Accra, drawing nearly 5,000 participants from across the region. The company announced plans for what it hopes will be an even larger V-Africa event in 2026.

Beyond product events, QNET’s free financial literacy programme, FinGreen, launched in late 2024, has reached more than 1,000 beneficiaries across five cities. The RYTHM Foundation, QNET’s CSR arm, has supported Ghana’s ANOPA Project for four years, helping schools in Cape Coast and Accra that specialize in education for children with disabilities.

The company is also planning to set up a QNET Experience Centre in Ghana to provide credible information and allow the public to experience products firsthand.
