The team of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar recently provided an update on her health. She’s been confined to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for more than a week after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia.
“Lata Didi is showing indications of progress from previously and is being treated in the ICU by the outstanding team of doctors led by Dr. Pratit Samdani,” said Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, a close friend of the singer. We are hoping and praying for her to recover quickly and return home.”

The megastar had contacted a member of her team who was also COVID-19 positive. Several fans and representatives of the film industry flocked to social media after learning about Mangeshkar’s condition to wish her a fast recovery. On Twitter, Abhishek Bachchan commented, “Prayers for your swift recovery @mangeshkarlata.”
There were allegations circulating on social media a few days ago that Lata Ji’s health had deteriorated in the hospital. Following that, her team released a formal statement stating that she is stable.’ “It’s upsetting to watch erroneous information spread. Please take note that Lata Didi is in good health. Continues to be treated in the intensive care unit by capable doctors. Please pray for her safe return home,” the statement concluded.
