Instagram, which is owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), has introduced a new Playback feature that allows users to see a retrospective of their “favorite Stories” from 2021. Thanks to a new feature, Instagram users can now show their followers their top 10 stories from the year. Instagram will suggest a set of Stories for the 2021 Playback, but users can remove them and replace them with their own before publishing their video. The feature is available to all users, however, it will only be available for a few weeks.
Instagram has begun to display a banner at the top of users’ feeds with a button that allows them to curate stories from their past. The stories will be put together into a 2021 Playback and accompanied by a 2021 Banner. If the Stories that are automatically selected bring up bad memories, users can eliminate them as mentioned above. Obviously, any other narrative from the year 2021 can be used in place of these.
If a person wants to evaluate the past year, the new Playback option is also handy. Users can also create their own year-in-review videos to summarise the year’s major events. Spotify‘s Wrapped feature, as well as a range of other popular tools around the end of each year, are thought to have influenced the feature.
Instagram is yet to release a function that allows users to share their top posts from 2021, and the current feature only allows users to share past stories. All users may now utilize Instagram’s new Playback feature, although it will only be available for a limited time.
Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, recently indicated that the platform aims to give users more control. The Meta-owned site is also bringing back a version of the company’s original chronological feed, which was taken down in 2016.
