The US government has sued internet giant Google for violating the competitive market rules. Google is accused of violating the competitive market system’s policies to dominate Internet-based search and online advertising.
Google is accused of bribing millions of dollars each year to default on its search engines on devices and browsers, including mobile phones, BBC reports.
After more than a year of investigation, Google has been sued by the US Department of Justice and 11 US state administrations. Google bribed hundreds of millions of dollars a year to keep its search engine as the default on devices and browsers, including mobile phones, the lawsuit said.

This is the biggest legal challenge of the US administration in the past few years against one of the world’s largest technology companies.
The European Union earlier had also fined Google with the same charges. Google has appealed to the European Commission to pay a fine of 820 million euros.
Meanwhile, Google termed the case “deeply flawed”. The company claims that the sector they operate is highly competitive and has always been a priority for the customer.
Google said in a statement that people use Google voluntarily. No one is forced to use Google or they can’t find alternatives.
Search engine giant Google’s parent company Alphabet is expected to fight against the US government’s allegations.
