Pharmaceutical giants Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) have agreed to supply 60 million doses of potential Covid-19 vaccine to UK. The two organizations made the announcement on Wednesday.

Sanofi of France and GSK of the United Kingdom have signed a deal regarding the Covid-19 vaccine, BBC reports.

Sanofi is in talks with European Union, France, Italy to ensure availability of the vaccine in global race to stop the pandemic.

Both Sanofi and GSK said in an announcement that they were “committed to making the vaccine available globally”.

Roger Connor, president of GSK Vaccines, said, Sanofi hopes to have their vaccine approved by regulatory authorities by the middle of next year.

The UK has inked deals with US pharma giant Pfizer and Germany’s Bioentech to get 90 million doses of vaccine.

The British government has said it will buy 100 million doses of the promising vaccines from Oxford University and AstraZeneca.

This vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca is currently on trial.
