Drake Cancels Remaining Australia and New Zealand Tour Dates

Drake Cancels Australia and New Zealand Tour

Sydney, February 26, 2025Drake has officially canceled the rest of his “Anita Max Win Tour” in Australia and New Zealand due to a scheduling conflict. The announcement came earlier today at 12:14 PM, Australian time, through an exclusive statement to Rolling Stone AU/NZ.

The rapper was set to perform four more sold-out shows, including Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 4, Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on March 7, and two nights at Auckland’s Spark Arena on March 15 and 16. Fans who bought tickets for these performances can hold onto them for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will also be available for those unable to attend the new shows, with refunded tickets being resold due to high demand.

In his statement, Drake apologized to his fans, saying, “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work on rescheduling these dates.” He added that he had an “incredible time doing these shows” and looks forward to returning soon.

The tour began on February 4, 2025, with two nights in Perth, marking Drake’s first performance in Western Australia since 2015. It also included four shows in Melbourne, four in Sydney, and two in Brisbane. This marked his first trip to the region since 2017.

The sudden cancellation sparked speculation earlier today when reports emerged that Drake’s private jet left Brisbane for Fiji. Rumors suggested his stage equipment, including a giant clear walkway, was being shipped to Europe. Some initially blamed poor ticket sales, but most shows were nearly sold out, except for wheelchair-accessible seats.

Fans on Reddit noticed unusual changes in ticket availability. For instance, Brisbane’s show originally had 20 sections with tickets available before suddenly appearing sold out. Many suspected intentional manipulation to boost demand.

The “Anita Max Win Tour,” named after a gambling term symbolizing a jackpot win, featured elaborate production and electrifying performances. Despite the setback, Drake and his team are actively working to share new dates and possibly add additional shows.

Drake has been in Australia since February 2023, enjoying an extended stay in the region leading up to his latest tour. His Perth show brought excitement back to Western Australia after years away. Fans across both countries expressed disappointment but remained hopeful for his return later this year or in 2026.

This tour cancellation follows Drake’s high-profile Super Bowl halftime show appearance earlier this month, which drew global praise. Some speculate his scheduling issues may involve preparations for upcoming European performances or other major commitments.

While fans await updates, the rescheduling process shows Drake’s dedication to fulfilling these appearances. For now, those holding tickets can either secure a refund or wait for news on updated tour stops.

Drake’s ability to connect with audiences worldwide remains unmatched, and his promise to return soon keeps fans optimistic. Until then, his “Anita Max Win Tour” stands as a reminder of the challenges artists face while balancing global commitments and fan expectations.
