Traveler’s Guide to Nyx: Star Citizen’s Levski, Delamar & Alpha 4.4 Update

Traveler’s Guide to Nyx Star Citizen’s Levski, Delamar & Alpha 4.4 Update

Being one of the best space simulation projects to be ever created, Star Citizen lives up to its name by offering a living and evolving universe where players have the command to shape it through their actions, dynamic systems and progression. Players get to experience the outer space world with higher definition graphics and beautifully created visuals.

With each major patch, this universe keeps on evolving with more details and unpredictably. One of the game’s most recent updates – the Alpha 4.4 patch note, marks a major milestone in Star Citizen’s history by enhancing the game’s most iconic frontier system: Nyx.

The updates bring a lot of exciting and new things for players to explore and spend their Star Citizen aUEC on. This guide will give you a complete breakdown of the Nyx system and its by parts – Levski and Delamar to help you decide your next exploration area in Star Citizen Alpha 4.4.

What is the Nyx System

The Nyx system was first discovered in the year 2582 but was left unclaimed by the UEE or better known as the United Empire of Earth. Situated at the edge of a Dark Nebula, Nyx is an unclaimed planetary system in Star Citizen. It is one of the game’s most intriguing frontier regions which orbits an F type main sequence star and contains 3 planets and 2 asteroid belts.

The reason why it was left unclaimed is because of its dense belt alpha called Glaciem Ring which was declared to be too dangerous for mining.

The structure of Nyx System in order:

  • Nyx the Star at the core
  • Planet 1 – Nyx I
  • Planet 2 – Nyx II
  • Asteroid Belt 1 – Glaciem Ring or Nyx Belt Alpha
    • Dalamar
      • Levski
  • Planet 3 – Nyx III
  • Asteroid Belt 1 – Keeger Belt

Before going into details, let’s have a quick look at the Nyx System info to give you a clear picture of this system’s design. The Nyx System is made around the F-type star known as Nyx. The nearest planet that is orbiting the star is Nyx I and the second closest is Nyx II.

Further from the Nyx II lies the first asteroid belt called the Glaciem Ring. Inside that Glaciem Ring exists a big asteroid called Delamar. Delamar is also the largest asteroid in that belt. Delamar also happens to be the main hotspot of the Nyx System as the Nyx system is run by the People’s Alliance and Levski, which is a sealed settlement for them, is located on Delamar.

Ahead of the Glaciem Ring exists Nyx III, which is our third planet and the System ends with the existence of the second major asteroid belt – Keeger Belt. Buy Star Citizen ships and go explore the Nyx system on your own.

Planets

Here is a more detailed description for the 3 planets of Nyx system:

1. Nyx I

Nyx I is the very first planet of the system. It is green in colour but completely inhabitable. The planet is currently going through experimental terraformation and it is believed that people will be able to breathe freely once it has an atmosphere.

History

The planet was also discovered in SEY 2582 with the initial discovery of its system. Nyx was initially considered to be a useless planet until the point where they conducted a survey and discovered the presence of highly valuable metals. Even with the knowledge of its existence, companies were unable to extract it due to their lack of technology. This inability was changed with the introduction of Genesis Terraforming in 2954.

2. Nyx II

In second place, we have Nyx II which is a smog planet, located in the green band of the Nyx system. Unlike Nyx I, it is sweltering, stifling and considered to be highly intoxicated, making it completely inhabitable by discarding terraforming.

History

Nyx II has always been just a poisonous planet with thick clouds of acid and CO2 forming up in its atmosphere. Through a survey or say a study, this planet was concluded to be impossible to make a habitat. But this very fact also gives rise to the theory that there might exist some high value resources that have not been touched yet.

3. Nyx III

Lastly, we have Nyx III which is our final planet in the Nyx System. This planet is located far from the Star and is known to be a giant ball of ice, made out of frozen water and ammonia vapor. Resource extraction is not completely impossible here on Nyx III but the hazardous work conditions on Nyx III only made it possible for minimal resource extraction.

Glaciem Ring

The Glaciem RIng is a dense asteroid belt that lies between Nyx II and Nyx III. The spot is not a mining hub but with the nebula, it has become a good place to make a hiding spot. Many small settlements have been formed in this area, out of which the most significant one is the Levski on the Dalamar asteroid.

Dalamar and Levski

Dalamar is the biggest asteroid in the Glaciem Ring which is also considered to be a small planetoid because of its massive size. Even with the existing paranoia, one can easily visit Dalamar through the system. The main attraction of the system – Levski also lies on this asteroid.

Levski is the landing zone on Dalamar that was actually an abandoned mining facility before the refugees arrived. It also serves as the system’s primary settlement and today, it stands as a symbol of independence and resistance. It is comprised of 4 levels:

  • Level 00
  • Sublevel 01
  • Sublevel 02
  • Sublevel 03

Takeaways

The Star Citizen Alpha 4.4 update brought the Nyx system back and renewed attention on Nyx signals a future where the place will play a major role in the expanding universe’s politics and conflicts.
