Shravan of Composer Duo Nadeem-Shravan Dies of Covid-19

Music composer Shravan Rathod of the iconic duo Nadeem-Shravan died of Covid-19 on Thursday.

He was 66.

Shravan Rathod tested positive for Coronavirus and was admitted to SL Raheja Hospital in Mumbai on Monday. On that day, he was reportedly in critical condition, Indian media report.

When the news of composer Shravan Rathod’s death spread, condolence messages from celebrities flooded on social media.

Nadeem-Shravan was one of the most prolific composers of the 90s and early 2000s. The duo composer got their big break with Bollywood film Aashiqui in 1990.

The film — Aashiqui — made records in music industry and its music is still hummed to the day. Aashiqui filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt put the duo on the map. They went on to compose for hits including Saajan, Sadak and Phool Aur Kaante in 1991. Apart from these, the songs of Deewana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Raja, Agni Sakshi, Jeet, Pardes and Raja Hindustani became hit the next years.

Nadeem and Shravan parted ways in 2005 and since then Shravan was largely missing from the music industry, the Indian Express reports.
