Top Tips for Playing Online Bingo

Editorialge

Back in the day, every town had its own Bingo Hall. In some places, Bingo was as much a part of a community as the local Post Office, Pub, Church and Town Hall.

For those who are used to playing bingo, this will come as no surprise. There is a chance you’ll win something, it’s inexpensive and easy to play and, best of all, it’s fun!

And that’s also one of the reasons why we don’t see Bingo Halls like we used to. You see, at some point the fun would stop and everyone would have to grab their coats and make the trip back home, usually in the dark.

But since the end of the 90s, Bingo fans have been able to play online. And that means they can play whenever and wherever they want, at any time of the day or night!

In more recent times, players have been able to chat with each other too. So, that sense of community still exists, even if you’re not physically present in the Bingo Hall.

Having said all that, you might be new to playing Bingo electronically. That’s why we’re here on hand to give you the top tips for playing your favourite game online.

Firstly, you’ll be pleased to know, that it’s perfectly legal to play Bingo online, just as it is in a traditional Bingo Hall. This is, basically, because each player has an equal chance of winning, so it’s not classed as gambling.

That out the way we’re ready to get started.

First off, get used to online bingo by playing in one of the many free bingo sites to familiarise yourself with the format. In fact, the first-ever online Bingo game, ‘Bingo Zone’ was free.

You’ll soon realise it’s just the same as the game you’re used to, even if the graphics differ. Ultimately, as you know, bingo is a game of chance, but there are little things you can do to greater the chances of a win.

With that in mind, when you’re comfortable to play for real, we’ve got a few little tips to help you along the way….

  • Research the site

Most online Bingo sites are reputable and law-abiding, but for belt and braces, do a bit of background checking. Better still, a recommendation from a friend who is used to playing online is arguably the best way forward.

  • Check the deals

If you’re new to online bingo, you may even be able to sign up and get free credits or bingo cards without spending a penny. Remember, the online bingo halls want you to play with them, so check out what they are offering to incentivise you!

As we’ve seen, shopping around before you’ve started to play is one of the key tips that you can use to improve your online game.

  • Check the Prizes and the Rules

When it comes to prizes, different sites offer different rewards for winning a game so, again, shop around and check. Ideally, aim to get free credit that leads to a win with a preferred prize!

Of course, all of that is immaterial if you’ve not read the rules properly. Failure to do so could lead to you losing a prize or money, so check the rules!

  • Play when there are fewer players

The size of the jackpot is the same irrespective of how many people are playing and you’re more likely to win when there are fewer players. So, don’t just fire up the smartphone and dive in, choose your timings carefully.

Avoid playing at lunchtime or during the weekend for example. Think ‘off-peak’ and your chances of winning increase greatly.

  • Stick to a Budget

Online Bingo is fun, at times you might be having so much fun you lose track of time and how much you’re spending. So set a budget and stick to it before you do anything.

Being mindful of a budget does have its advantages over and above playing safely too as it’ll encourage you to look out for the aforementioned deals.

  • Become a strategist?

There are a couple of well-known strategies that might help you to even the odds when it comes to online bingo. The first is what’s called the Tippet strategy from British statistician L. H. C. Tippett and it’s Based on probability. The second is the Granville Strategy, named after writer Joseph E Granville and is based on statistical analysis.

Both are mentioned here to acknowledge that they exist, but the tip-top tip to winning bingo online is to do your research and play off-peak.

Having said all of that, remember why you’re playing online bingo in the first place. Back in the day winning the prize in a Bingo Hall was always second to the fun you had playing!

Worth bearing in mind, that.
