Twitter has started giving government-related accounts a grey tick verification mark and companies a golden tick verification mark. The rest of the verified accounts will get a blue tick verification mark.

With the rollout, Twitter has changed the blue tick mark on the Government of India’s handle to a grey tick, as well as on the handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The prime minister’s Twitter has 85.1 million followers.

The company announced on December 12 that it will replace the “official” label on some business Twitter accounts with a gold checkmark. It had said that it would add a grey checkmark to accounts for governments and multilateral organizations.

Twitter Blue costs $8 per month on the web and $11 per month on iOS. Twitter plans to gradually roll out Twitter Blue around the world.

“Existing Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to upgrade, cancel, or have their subscriptions automatically renewed at the new price. Prices may differ depending on where you live. Soon, Android will have subscriptions, the company said.

The Twitter Blue service is available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
