WWE Legend Triple H Announces Retirement from Wrestling

Triple H

Legendary WWE wrestler Triple H, a.k.a. Paul Levesque, announced his retirement from in-ring action and stated that he is done as an active wrestler. Last September, Levesque experienced a cardiac event, which led to his decision to retire from the ring.

‘The Game,’ as Triple H is known, revealed that his heart problem was life-threatening and that he had gone into heart failure, and that there were times when he didn’t think he’d make it.

Levesque, 52, said he had pneumonia, which caused fluid to fill his lungs and arms. Levesque’s ejection fraction has plummeted to 12%, which is below the usual range of 55-60%. “By the time I arrived at the emergency hospital, my ejection fraction had dropped to 22,” Triple H said on ESPN’s First Take with Stephen A. Smith.

“I was in heart failure at the time. Bad. By the next morning – after they sorted it out that evening – they had completed the MRI and were preparing to send me in for a heart scan. My ejection fraction had dropped to 12 percent. So, I was nosediving and on the one-yard line of where you want to be – or, more accurately, where you don’t want to be – for your family and future.”

When asked about his plans for the future, Triple H stated flatly, “I won’t – I’m never going to wrestle again. First and foremost, I have a defibrillator implanted in my chest. Which means that getting zapped on live television is probably not a smart idea.”

This means that Triple H’s most recent broadcast match took place at the 2019 WWE Super ShowDown, where he faced Randy Orton. Triple H, a 14-time world champion, began his professional wrestling career in 1992. He spent two years with World Championship Wrestling before joining WWE as Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He formed the notorious D-Generation X alliance with WWE Hall of Famer and best buddy Shawn Michaels in 1997.

In 1999, the game won his first WWE championship by defeating Mick Foley in the Raw main event. From there, he’d skyrocket to superstardom. He went on to win the Royal Rumble twice, in 2002 and 2016, and to wrestle in the main event of multiple WrestleManias. Following The Undertaker, Triple H has appeared in the most Hell in a Cell fights in WWE history, winning against the greatest in the business. After taking on the post of executive vice-president of the firm, he began performing in the ring part-time in 2011. He is the NXT brand’s executive producer, and he is responsible for the show’s massive success.
