PC Gamers Rejoice: Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Launches This May

Ghost of Tsushima PC

Sony has officially confirmed the release date for Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on PC following previous rumors. Sucker Punch’s open-world samurai game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store starting May 16th.

Ghost of Tsushima was released for PlayStation 4 and PS5 in July 2020. A Director’s Cut, which includes the base game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode, was released the next year. This particular version will be released on PC in May, and Sony has now provided information on some of the enhancements specific to the PC version of the game.

The PlayStation Blog post unveiled that Ghost of Tsushima for PC will include unlocked frame rates, a range of graphics settings and presets, customizable mouse and keyboard controls, as well as comprehensive controller support. For example, you can utilize Steam Input to customize and remap the controller you prefer. Users with a DualSense controller can enjoy its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Moreover, Ghost of Tsushima for PC includes ultrawide monitor support for various resolutions such as 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 for triple monitor setups. It also offers support for DLSS 3, DLAA, FSR 3, FSR 3 Native AA, and Intel XeSS upscaling.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut will be available for Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 16th. Pre-order customers will receive early access to three in-game items: a New Game+ horse, the traveler’s attire, and broken armor dyes from Baku’s shop.

Chris Tapsell from Eurogamer had conflicting thoughts about Ghost of Tsushima in his 2020 review. He described it as a “likeable, if clunky Hollywood blockbuster” and mentioned that despite its initial excitement, the shine could fade a bit too fast. It has been a success for Sony and Sucker Punch, selling 10 million copies two years after its release. The game’s popularity has led to it being adapted into a movie by director Chad Stahelski.
