Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison followed in the footsteps of his “close friend” Narendra Modi and prepared the Indian PM’s favorite dish, khichdi.
To commemorate Australia’s new trade agreement with India, the 53-year-old prepared curries from Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi’s native state.
“To commemorate our new trade agreement with India, the curries I selected to cook for curry night tonight are all from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gujurat province, including his favorite Khichdi.” “Jen, girls, and mom all approve (sic),” Morrison said on Instagram. In his post, he misspelled ‘Gujarat.’
The Instagram post featured two photos: one of Morrison, armed with an apron, cooking khichdi in his kitchen, and the other of a dining table set with the final dishes – khichdi and curry.

Morrison has previously demonstrated his culinary abilities. During the coronavirus lockdown in May 2020, Morrison uploaded a picture of a tray full of “ScoMosas,” a snack he said he made from scratch.

PM Modi’s response was that the refreshments looked “excellent.”

Scott Morrison, commonly known as ScoMo, became the unintentional prime minister in 2018 when his cabinet colleagues chose him to succeed then-Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. He is now the first Australian Prime Minister to serve a complete term in 15 years.
