Legendary footballer Diego Maradona‘s “Hand of God” will be alive in the minds of the people as long as football will last. Some call it controversial goals while others say football style.
England lost 2-1 to Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup. Maradona scored the goal in that match to give Argentina a lead. The first goal for Argentina was the most infamous. Maradona scored with his hand instead of his head. He called this “Hand of God”.
Of course, the goal is followed by an untold story that Maradona later brought forward. If the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) had the same technology as in the present time, he would have been arrested for that goal. England defeated Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup.

Maradona’s first goal of the two goals was the infamous “Hand of God”. And right after that, the second is the best in football history.
In an interview with the BBC in 2006, Maradona said of his controversial goal: “I would have been arrested for that goal if the video assistant referee system were at that time.”
Maradona had earlier apologized to the referee Ali Bin Nasser for that. He jumped in the 51st minute of the match at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico and scored with his hand. The goal scored by hand was so perfect, the referee didn’t understand.
