The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) is currently filming its 19th season, and longtime cast member Tamra Judge has once again found herself in the middle of drama. Over the weekend, as production took a trip to New Orleans, Tamra shocked fans by hinting at her departure from the show with a cryptic Instagram post.
Typed in all caps on a fuchsia background, Tamra wrote, “It was a long run! When life gives you real problems, this reality sh*t doesn’t make sense. Peace out [peace sign emoji] I’m out.”
Her statement led to widespread speculation about whether she was truly quitting or just venting about the pressures of filming. The timing of her post raised eyebrows, especially with the return of her longtime rival, Gretchen Rossi, as a “Friend” of the cast this season.
Andy Cohen’s Reaction to Tamra’s Sudden Announcement
Tamra’s dramatic message quickly gained attention, and Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen addressed the situation on his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live. While he didn’t provide specific details about the events that led to her outburst, he urged fans to consider what Tamra is going through in her personal life.
“I got the report of what happened last night,” Andy said. “All I will say is this. I can’t comment on what’s going on, you know, while we’re filming shows. I guess the only thing that – the thing that is at the top of my mind is that one of her best friends, if not her best friend, is going through … an incredibly intense health crisis. So maybe keep that in mind.”
Without directly addressing whether Tamra had officially left the show, Andy hinted that emotions were running high and that personal struggles could be impacting her mindset.
Tamra’s Best Friend’s Health Battle Weighs on Her
Andy’s comment refers to former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp, who is not only Tamra’s close friend but also her podcast co-host on Two Ts in a Pod. Teddi has been publicly battling stage 2 melanoma since her diagnosis in October 2022. Over the past two years, she has undergone more than 20 surgeries. In February 2025, Teddi faced an even more severe setback when she had brain surgery to remove several tumors after suffering from debilitating headaches.
Just days before Tamra’s Instagram post, on March 7, Teddi revealed that her cancer had metastasized to her lungs, with at least two additional tumors found. This devastating news has undoubtedly weighed heavily on Tamra, who has been by Teddi’s side throughout her fight.
“In February, after learning that Teddi’s cancer had spread, Tamra shared on their podcast, ‘I just don’t even know what I would do without her.’”
With her best friend facing such a life-altering battle, it’s understandable that Tamra may have little patience for on-screen drama. This could explain why she felt the need to step back from the RHOC chaos, even if temporarily.
Will Tamra Judge Actually Leave RHOC?
Tamra’s Instagram message was undeniably dramatic, but whether she has officially quit RHOC remains unclear. While her words suggested finality, it’s possible she was simply venting in a moment of frustration. Given her history with the show—where she has taken breaks before, only to return—it wouldn’t be surprising if this was just another bump in the road.
For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Tamra truly steps away or if this was just a heat-of-the-moment reaction. Either way, her focus seems to be on supporting Teddi through her health battle rather than engaging in Bravo-fueled feuds.
RHOC Season 19 is currently in production and will be available for streaming on Peacock.
