New Shows on Amazon Prime in May 2023

Listen to the Podcast:

Are you looking for new shows on Amazon Prime in May 2023? Amazon’s Prime Video is recognized as having some of the deepest coffers in the streaming industry, having recently spent over $140 million on Daisy Jones & the Six, $175 million on The Peripheral, and $465 million on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

However, even Rich Uncle Pennybags requires a break from time to time, which may explain why there is so little to write about this month. There are a few new comedy specials from Jimmy O. Yang and Zarna Garg, as well as a number of upcoming theatrical releases in 2022 (She Said, Violent Night, and Till), but the only new Prime Video original of note is not even in English.

Hohlbeins’ The Gryphon is an adaptation of Wolfgang Hohlbein’s 1989 novel Der Grief. Hohlbein is a household name in Germany, having sold approximately 43 million copies of his science fiction and fantasy books. Here is everything new shows on Amazon Prime in May 2023, as well as everything you can stream for free on Amazon’s ad-supported Freevee service.
