Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has tested Covid-19 positive. His wife Mira Bhattacharya has also contracted the coronavirus. She was admitted to a private hospital in south Kolkata on Tuesday night due to respiratory problems.
Buddhadeb is undergoing treatment at home since he tested Covid-19 positive Tuesday, Anandabazar reports quoting CPM sources.
His oxygen level is still not alarming. Since he is a COPD patient, the CPM party authorities want to take him to hospital for treatment. According to them, Buddhadeb. the former chief minister of West Bengal, is not ready to go to the hospital. A decision will be taken considering the situation, they said.
The oxygen level in Buddhadeb’s body had dropped below 90 on Tuesday night. The level got up above 90 on Wednesday after he was given oxygen. But it is not fully normal yet, the report said.
