The year 2022 is over, and we saw deaths of many notable Indian personalities. The voids that their passing has left, whether they were musical icons or well-liked actors, cannot ever be filled. The list of famous Indian celebrities died in 2022 is below.

Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar, as she was lovingly known, passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital on February 6 from a variety of ailments, including Covid-19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, various Central and State cabinet ministers, Bollywood stars, and others attended her public funeral that evening with full state honors at Shivaji Park, in addition to thousands of her fans and admirers.

Bappi Lahiri

The veteran singer-composer Alokesh alias Bappi Lahiri—the nephew of the late Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar, and Anoop Kumar—died on February 16 at after midnight due to a variety of health issues. He suffered from a multitude of medical conditions and died from OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).

Pandit Birju Maharaj

On January 17, Birju Maharaj, a living legend of Kathak who had been given a renal failure diagnosis and started receiving dialysis, passed suddenly at his home. He was 83. Maharaj ji, as he was popularly known, had to be taken to the hospital when his condition suddenly deteriorated while he was playing with his grandkids. There, he suffered a heart attack and died. Sandhya Mukherjee

Veteran Bengali singer Sandhya Mukherjee, well known by her stage name Sandhya Mukhopadhay, passed away on Tuesday after experiencing a heart arrest. At the Apollo Hospital in eastern Kolkata, the 90-year-old woman passed away.

She had a severe heart arrest earlier in the day, and despite numerous attempts to save her life, she died. The celebrated singer recently made headlines after declining the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honor.

Raju Srivastava

Raju Srivastava, 58, who had only lately been accepted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the capital, passed unexpectedly on September 21. Srivastava complained of chest trouble on August 10 and passed out in his gym. He was brought to the medical facility and placed on a ventilator.

KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath)

Playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, often referred to as KK, passed away on June 1. He was 53. To perform at a gathering the Gurudas College had organized at Nazrul Manch, KK was in the city. It was found that KK felt queasy while performing. The musician arrived back at his hotel and started to have a bad feeling. After that, he was taken to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced him dead.

Siddhaanth Surryavanshi

TV actor Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi died while working out in a gym. For his parts in the television shows Kkusum, Waaris, and Suryaputra Karn, the performer was well-known.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala

From July 5, 1960, until August 8, 2022, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, an Indian billionaire businessman, Chartered Accountant, stock trader, and investor, lived. He started investing in 1985 with a capital of 5,000, and in 1986, he realized his first sizable profit. He had an estimated net worth of $5.8 billion at the time of his passing, ranking him as the 438th richest person in the world. In his own asset management company, Rare Enterprises, he was a partner. He frequently invested and held director and chairman positions for a number of companies. Akasa Air was also founded by him. Sidhu Moosewala

The murder of famed Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala is believed to have been planned by gangster Satinderjeet Singh aka Goldy Brar, who was caught in California, according to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday. Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, moved from Canada to the US in 2017. Since then, he had been there. He accepted responsibility for the group’s part in the horrifying murder of Moosewala on May 29.

T Rama Rao

Tatineni Rama Rao, a well-known Telugu and Hindi filmmaker who worked with renowned performers such as N T Rama Rao, Rajinikanth, and Amitabh Bachchan, died on Wednesday in Chennai. He was 84. Rama Rao ‘went for heavenly home in the early hours of Wednesday,’ according to his relatives. He died as a result of age-related complications.

In a career spanning nearly four decades, the late filmmaker T Rama Rao created triumphs with social concerns. He directed Navaratri in Telugu in 1966, starring Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Savitri. Yamagola, his 1977 fantasy comedy film featuring renowned NTR, was a box office success.

Cyrus Mistry

Cyrus Pallonji Mistry, an Indian businessman, lived from 4 July 1968 till 4 September 2022. He oversaw the Tata Group from 2012 until 2016. He was the sixth chairman of the organization. The National Integration Council included him as a member. On September 4, 2022, he was killed in a car accident on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway. The forensic investigation team found that the poorly designed road near the bridge was the primary cause of the tragedy.

Vikram Gokhale

At Pune’s Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, who had been in critical condition, passed away on November 26, 2022. He was 77. Gokhale has been hospitalized for a while and has been on “life support”.

Kamal Khan

Kamal Khan, a senior and award-winning journalist for NDTV recognized for his superb coverage of Uttar Pradesh politics and eloquent language, died of a heart attack at his Lucknow residence this morning. Kamal Khan worked for NDTV for over 30 years.
