The Telegraph says that Meghan Markle and her children will not be at the coronation. Instead, they will stay in California. However, the Palace of Buckingham has stated that Prince Harry will be there on behalf of his family.

What is done at a coronation?

The event starts with a parade, in which Charles III and Camilla go to the famous Westminster Abbey. Once there, the Archbishop of Canterbury welcomes the King into the Church, where he must take an oath to serve his people. He is then crowned and the crown is put on his head, along with symbols of his power like an orb, rings, and a scepter.

The king must sit in the coronation chair, which is called Edward’s Chair, and hold the marks of his power. Also, King Charles III will say a prayer at this event. He will be the first king to pray out loud during his coronation.

Westminster Abbey has been holding coronations for more than 900 years, and King Charles III will also be crowned there.

What does queen consort mean?
