Super Nintendo World Theme Park — the video game company’s theme park, Super Nintendo World, opened in Osaka, Japan, two years ago. It quickly became a must-see for fans of Mario and other Nintendo franchises, with spaces inspired by the plumber with a mustache’s games and activities that really make visitors feel like they are in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Fans who can’t go to Japan can now visit a second theme park in the United States. It will be at Universal Studios Hollywood, and it will be open from the day the new Super Mario Bros movie comes out. which has made a lot of people talk about how the main character’s voice has changed. The grand opening is on February 17, 2023, so it’s time to plan a trip.
Super Nintendo World Theme Park in USA
Since this one is only in one part of Universal Studios, it doesn’t look like it will be as big as the original Super Nintendo World in Japan. However, it seems to have all the magic that we expect from a place like this.
The main attraction is the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge game, which is an augmented reality go-kart simulator based on the classic video game. Visitors wear glasses that show them a digital world with amazing tracks where they can race against each other by doing some of the things they see in the games. At the moment, it’s the only big game being advertised, but more are likely to come, like the Japanese game Yoshi’s Adventure, which is more for kids.
On the other hand, there will be interactive parts in the park where people can win prizes or open up other kinds of special things to do. You can also get augmented reality binoculars that will let you see more of the magic of the Nintendo world. In the same way, everything has a Mario theme, right down to the food court, which has dishes named after Mario characters.
Shigeru Miyamoto, a creative genius at Nintendo, was a big part of making the park, which was made in collaboration with Universal Creative. And after it opens to the public, work will start on another one in Florida.
“Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge”
Inspired by the iconic Mario KartTM video game series, this all-new, technologically advanced attraction will seamlessly merge cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) with projection mapping technology and actual set pieces along a moving ride course. Guests will be placed in stadium-style, four-seat vehicles as they navigate familiar courses using the imaginative use and integration of head mounted AR goggles against a multi-sensory backdrop of color, sound, and movement. This distinct element is a crucial point of uniqueness that sets this ride apart from other theme park attractions.
“Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” is a basic idea that is both motivating and challenging, appealing to guests of all ages regardless of gaming experience. As part of Team Mario, guests will navigate underwater and cloud courses to battle for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win. As an engaging and repetitive experience with a range of results, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” raises the stakes for guests.

This enormous monument dominates the landscape and also acts as the entering queue for “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.”
Bowser’s Castle
This structure, adorned with a beautiful sculpture of a gigantic and powerful Bowser, acts as a crucial highlight of the area, housing SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s hallmark ride, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.” Guests will learn more about Bowser’s cunning plans to defeat Team Mario for the coveted Golden Cup as they explore the twisting halls and pass through the hall of medals and trophies of the frightening castle towards the “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride.
Power-Up Band
These wearable, cutting-edge wristbands sync with Universal Studios Hollywood’s free downloaded app to elevate the guest experience and improve the land’s various interactive aspects. These include, but are not limited to, tracking individual and team scores, earning digital currency, and obtaining keys after successfully completing challenges across the land. Guests will also be able to interact with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach via Power-Up Bands. They will be available for purchase both within the land and at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail shops located in the theme park and on CityWalk, and will come in six design variants with character themes.
Interactive Games
Guests will be totally immersed in an entertaining realm of real-life gameplay, involving punching? Blocks for collecting digital currency, as well as a variety of interactives. They will discover a new dimension of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD by using the interactive binoculars equipped with augmented reality technology that are strategically placed across the area. Guests can complete the four Key Challenges and gather keys from the interactive activities of Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant, and Thwomp to gain entry to the final boss battle with Bowser Jr. These dynamic, familiar, and enjoyable interactive activities will enhance the overall kinetic experience within the land and immerse guests in the one-of-a-kind universe of Super Mario.
Toadstool Cafe
The hallmark restaurant of the land, Toadstool Cafe will serve a gourmet menu perfected by Chef Toad, who will meet guests upon admission. Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger,? Block Tiramisu, and Princess Peach Cupcake are among the daily menu items.
1-UP Factory
What better way to celebrate a visit to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD than by purchasing collectible souvenirs from the 1-UP Factory retail shop? The 1-UP Factory will sell a wide range of items, including Mario and Luigi related apparel, iconic character headgear, and plush characters such as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Bowser.
