In 2023, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappe are three of the top 10 highest-paid athletes.
Forbes revealed the 10 highest-paid athletes of 2023, with Ronaldo, Messi, and Mbappe occupying the top three spots, accordingly.
Following his departure from Manchester United in 2022, Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for an astronomical annual charge of $46 million. He also earned an additional $90 million from endorsements, licensing income, and other business ventures, making him the highest-earning athlete of the year.
Ronaldo headed the list with a total of $136 million, while Messi placed second with $130 million.
Mbappe, Messi’s colleague, ranked third with $120 million.
LeBron James ($119.5 million), Canelo Alvarez ($110 million), the golf duo of Dustin Johnson ($107 million) and Phil Mickelson ($106 million), NBA star Stephen Curry ($100.4 million), tennis legend Roger Federer ($95.1 million), and basketball star Kevin Durant ($89 million) also make Forbes’ list of the highest-paid athletes in 2023.
