The pair persevered through difficult times while vehemently disputing the allegations. Kate had “planned abdominal surgery” in January 2024. Without any outside eyes for two months, she recovered at home in privacy.
Due to Photoshop worries, Kate’s first public remarks—an Instagram message posted on Mother’s Day in the UK that March—were greeted with criticism and conspiracy theories over her location. Kate was supposed to “thank members of the public for all the support and, at the same time, put some of those ridiculous conspiracy rumors to rest,” a second source told Us.

Harry Blames William and Kate for Controversial Costume Options
Prince Harry, William’s brother, faced criticism in 2005 for showing up to a Halloween party dressed as a Nazi. He claimed years later that William and Kate were the ones who chose the ensemble.

Facing Infidelity Rumors
William was accused in 2019 of having an affair with the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Rose Hanbury. Hanbury has been William and Kate’s close friend for a long time; he even attended the late Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021 and their wedding in 2011. Oliver, the son of Hanbury, subsequently acted as one of Charles’ pages of honor during his coronation in May 2023.
Hanbury, who is wed to David Cholmondeley, Kate, and William have never responded to the rumors.

Rumors circulated that the yearly holiday card that William and Kate sent out in December 2023 had been drastically altered, since it seemed like one of Louis’ fingers had been cut off and an extra leg had been added.
