Jennifer Lopez Thrives Post-Ben Affleck Split: “Excited to Be Alone”

Jennifer Lopez Excited After Ben Affleck Split

Jennifer Lopez is embracing a new chapter in her life, sharing her feelings about personal growth, independence, and the challenges she’s faced after her split from Ben Affleck.

Interview magazine published a candid interview with comedian Nikki Glaser on Oct. 9, during which Lopez discussed her recent journey, her upcoming film Unstoppable, and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

A Lifelong Journey of Self-Discovery

Reflecting on her ongoing path toward self-understanding, Lopez, 55, emphasized that life is a continuous process of growth and learning. “It’s a lifelong process,” she said. “There’s no arrival point. It’s either growing or dying, and I don’t want to do the dying part.”

Lopez acknowledged that, despite believing she had figured things out at various stages in her life, new challenges always arose. “Life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you really have learned that lesson.’ And I hadn’t,” she admitted. This perspective has led her to embrace personal growth as a never-ending journey.

Embracing Independence After the Split

Following her recent divorce from Ben Affleck, finalized on Aug. 20, Lopez shared her excitement about the prospect of being on her own. “Now I’m excited, when you say you’re just going to be on your own,” she revealed. “I’m not looking for anybody.”

Lopez reflected on how the past decades of her career and personal life have shaped her resilience and independence. “What can I f—ing do when it’s just me flying on my own? What if I’m just free?” she pondered, expressing a newfound sense of freedom and self-reliance.

The Success of Unstoppable at TIFF

One of the brighter moments in Lopez’s year was the premiere of her new film Unstoppable at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sept. 7.

The film, which tells the inspiring true story of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg who went on to win an NCAA national championship, received a standing ovation from the audience.

“I felt really good,” Lopez said about the premiere. The movie’s really beautiful, and people loved it. It’s one of those great inspirational stories that I think the world needs right now.” Lopez portrays Judy Robles, the mother of Anthony, while the film was produced by Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity.

The Importance of Being Good on Your Own

Lopez stressed the need to be “good on your own.” throughout the interview. She explained that although she thought she had mastered that concept, her experiences this year made her realize she still had work to do.

“The work is figuring yourself out,” Lopez said. She discussed how reflecting on underlying emotions and belief systems helped her understand the choices and patterns in her life. “You have to be healthy. You have to be complete if you want something that’s more complete,” she added.

Lopez admitted that this personal growth process was not easy, describing it as “f—ing hard.” Despite the challenges, she realized that she could find joy and happiness on her own, without needing a relationship to define her.

Moving Forward Amicably

Despite their split, Lopez and Affleck have remained on amicable terms. On Sept. 14, the former couple enjoyed a friendly lunch with four of their five children: Lopez’s 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, and Affleck’s children Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez shares her twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares his children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

According to sources close to the pair, they are committed to co-parenting and maintaining a friendly relationship for the sake of their children. They want to show the kids that things are amicable,” a source shared. “There’s still a lot of love.”

While they are focusing on their children, both Lopez and Affleck are moving forward with the divorce. However, their shared dedication to their family ensures that they will remain connected.

A New Chapter of Self-Discovery

For Lopez, this year has been one of deep reflection, growth, and independence. As she continues her personal journey, she is embracing the freedom of being on her own and is excited about what the future holds.

Her story serves as an inspiration for those navigating the complexities of life and relationships, reminding us all of the importance of self-discovery and resilience.

Lopez’s candid conversation highlights her determination to continue evolving, both personally and professionally, as she enters this new chapter with optimism and strength.
