Google Doodle Celebrates Harry Potter Fame

Listen to the Podcast:

Professor Snape is a figure that Potter fans will always remember because of how cold he looks and how decisive he is. Alan Rickman brought the role to life on the stage.

But this wasn’t the only well-known part the actor played. On Sunday, Google will honor Alan Rickman’s unforgettable part in the play “Les Liaisons Dangereuses,” which helped him get his career off the ground.

Alan Rickman was in the play in 1987, and Google said that it “played a key role in getting his career started.” He is also known for his amazing roles in Die Hard, Reservoir Dogs, and Pulp Fiction.

Alan Rickman was born on February 21. He was a natural painter, and his teachers and family helped him become interested in other kinds of art. He became interested in playing and got a scholarship to go to Latymer Upper School in London so he could keep doing it.

After that, he went to Chelsea College of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art to study graphic design. After he finished school, he and some close college friends started their own design company and he kept going to the amateur Group Court Drama Club. Alan Rickman started playing seriously when he was 26. He got into RADA, which is one of the best acting schools in the world.

He played parts in The Tempest and Love’s Labour’s Lost after he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. In the play Les Liaisons Dangereuses, he played an antihero named Le Vicomte de Valmont. This part brought him a lot of attention at the time. He was also nominated for a Tony Award for his act, and he began to get offers to be in movies.

Alan Rickman became famous for playing mostly bad guys, like Hans Gruber in the movie Die Hard. For decades, people talked about the actor’s part in the movie. Later, he played other bad guys in movies such as Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He was also in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny (1996). He is also known for his charity work and his kind, sensitive personality when he was not on screen.

In 2001, he played Severus Snape, who stole the show in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The movie was a huge hit, and the actor who played the part with a lot of passion was also a huge hit. Because of his part as the professor, he was in the next seven Harry Potter movies and became a big star around the world.
