This function allows you to block specific conversations, removing them from the main list and placing them in the “Blocked Chats” folder. To access this folder, a password or a biometric mechanism, such as a fingerprint, will be required. Also, WhatsApp will hide notifications received from blocked chats.
WhatsApp Launches the Long-awaited Chat Lock Feature for Individual Threads
This feature will be very useful if you want to hide a conversation from a family member or when someone else is temporarily using your phone. To block a chat, you just have to click on the name of the conversation and select the corresponding option. However, it is important to note that this feature is not yet available for group chats, an aspect that WhatsApp could work on in the future.
WhatsApp is planning to add more chat lock options, such as the lock feature on additional devices and the ability to set custom passwords for each chat thread. The chat lock feature is already rolling out, and you can install the latest version of WhatsApp from the Play Store on Samsung devices.
With this new feature, WhatsApp seeks to give users greater control over their privacy and security in individual conversations within the application.
