Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

With its enormous size, 82 domes, and tall minarets, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque ranks as one of the must-see sites in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Completed in 2007, the complex bears the name Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late president of the United Arab Emirates and the man behind the mosque.

The mosque’s architecture combines several Islamic architectural motifs. See its collection of 24-carat-gold chandeliers featuring Swarovski crystals inside; the largest is 15 metres tall and 10 metres broad. It also has the largest hand-knotted carpet in the world, which is made of wool from Iran and New Zealand. As with any visit to a mosque, responsible conduct and clothing are required.

Capital Gate

Khaleej Al Arabi Street is where you can find the Capital Gate Tower. The building is intended to pose a contemporary threat to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The lean of the Capital Gate is greater than four times that of the well-known Leaning Tower of Pisa. With 35 stories, the tower is 524.9 feet high. The Capital Gate holds the title of “World’s Furthest Leaning Man-Made Tower,” as confirmed by Guinness World Records.

Museums in Abu Dhabi

The greatest museums here are incredibly diverse, with each having its own special collection of artefacts to behold. Explore the largest artwork museum in the Arabian Peninsula, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, for art enthusiasts. It features artwork from several French museums, notably the Louvre in Paris.

You may travel back in time and discover traditional Emirati life at places like the Heritage Village and Zayed Heritage Centre, which include enthralling reconstructions of desert settlements. Stepping forward to the present, you may see the interactive and high-tech exhibitions at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

The Emirates National Auto Museum features more than 200 automobiles from Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan’s, often known as “The Rainbow Sheikh,” a private collection for auto enthusiasts.

The Hidden Gold Souk

Nestled within the Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre is a beautiful Gold Souk. There is so much gold in the secret gold market that it dwarfs any market in Dubai. There is no denying the gold jewellery’s assortment and quality. Admire in wonder as block after wall of shelves is revealed, each displaying the most exquisite jewellery totalling 24, 22, and 18 carats. For those hoping to get great deals on gold, the Madinat Zayed Gold Souk is a true treasure.

The Corniche

The Corniche

There are several locations for children to picnic in lush grassy alcoves along the magnificent four-mile beachfront promenade known as the Corniche. Numerous spotless beaches are staffed by security personnel around the clock. As you wander along, pay respect to the Emirate’s flag, which is as large as a bus perched on a 360-foot pole, and the Capital Gate Tower, which is oriented eighteen degrees westward. A few blocks along the Corniche, you can see the oldest building in Abu Dhabi, the Qasr al Hosn Fort, and the Avenue Mall at Etihad Towers.

Yas: The Island of Adventure

Yas Island is a red-hot, adrenaline-filled arena with the most exhilarating rides. Experience the breathtaking water slides at Yas Water World and watch your knuckles become white. Yas Waterworld, purported to be the largest water park in the world, will make you nervous with its bewildering assortment of slides, never-ending wave machine, and raft attractions that wind through scary caverns, ravines, and tunnels.
