Aaron Paul and his wife Lauren have relocated their family from Los Angeles to Paris, France, following the deadly wildfires that swept through LA earlier this year. Though their home was not directly damaged, the catastrophic fires prompted them to sell their house and start a new chapter abroad for the well-being of their children and to experience a new culture.
Decision to Leave Los Angeles
The actor revealed in a recent interview that the wildfires were a turning point for him and Lauren. They realized their time in LA was over after the fires hit in January 2025. Despite escaping harm, the emotional impact and devastation surrounding the fires influenced their choice to move. Aaron Paul called Paris “fantastic” and said that the move was motivated by a desire to offer their kids a fresh environment and cultural immersion.
Family Life in Paris
Aaron and Lauren, married in 2013, have two young children, Story and Ryden. The family has long dreamed of spending at least a year abroad, and this relocation fulfilled that aspiration. The actor admitted he still has much to learn about the French language but is enthusiastic about the lifestyle changes. They are contemplating extending their stay beyond the initial plan due to how much they are enjoying living in the City of Lights.
The LA Wildfires Context
The January wildfires were devastating, destroying thousands of homes and causing a state of emergency in California. Over 100,000 residents evacuated, and several Hollywood celebrities lost properties in the blaze. Aaron Paul’s Los Feliz home, a $10 million Spanish-style estate previously owned by multiple notable figures, was put on the market earlier this year as part of their move.
New Chapter and Optimism
Although the move marks a significant change for the family, Paul remains optimistic about their future and the positive impact the Parisian lifestyle will have on his children. He highlighted the enriching experience of immersing in a different culture and expressed excitement about this new chapter for his family.
