Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned hip-hop mogul, is facing seven new civil lawsuits in a New York federal court, accusing him of sexual assault. Four men and three women have come forward with allegations of abuse that occurred at various parties in Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas. Among the plaintiffs is a woman who claims she was just 13 years old at the time of the incident.
These new lawsuits are in addition to federal charges Combs is already facing for sex trafficking and racketeering, for which he could face life in prison if convicted. He remains in custody at a Brooklyn jail, awaiting trial in May 2025. Combs has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.
Allegations Involve Drugging and Assault
According to the civil lawsuits, Combs is accused of drugging drinks at events, causing the victims to feel dizzy, nauseous, and dissociated from their bodies. The accusations range from rape to forced oral sex and groping. Some of the plaintiffs also claim that Combs’ associates were involved in facilitating these assaults.
One of the most serious accusations comes from a woman who alleges that she and another male celebrity raped her at an after-party for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards when she was just 13. The second celebrity has not been named in the lawsuit.
In another case, an independent artist says she was drugged and raped by Combs at a party. She recalls waking up in pain, with marks on her arms indicating she had been tied up while unconscious.
Other Incidents Highlight Abuse of Power
Additional cases detail disturbing behavior. In one, a man claims Combs exposed himself to him before roughly grabbing his genitals. Another lawsuit involves a personal trainer, who says Combs assaulted him at a party in 2022, forcing him into a small room and performing non-consensual oral sex.
A woman also claims she was drugged at a party in Combs’ hotel room and woke up naked with him in the same room. Similarly, a man who ran a security firm alleges that he was drugged and assaulted by Combs at a private event.
In the seventh case, a 17-year-old aspiring musician claims he was assaulted by Combs at a party.
A Year of Mounting Allegations
Over the past year, Combs has faced numerous accusations, including rape, sexual assault, grooming, and domestic violence. These new lawsuits add to the growing legal troubles for the music icon. Lawyers representing other potential plaintiffs have indicated that over 100 clients are planning to sue Combs for sexual assault, rape, and exploitation.
Prosecutors have accused Combs of running a criminal enterprise that abused women, using threats and violence to force them into participating in drug-fueled sexual activities. He has also been accused of engaging in kidnapping, forced labor, and bribery as part of his alleged illegal activities.
Awaiting Trial
Combs continues to deny all charges and has described the lawsuits as attempts to gain publicity. His legal team has emphasized that he has never sexually assaulted anyone, whether man or woman, adult or minor. Despite his defense, Combs has been denied bail multiple times and remains in custody. His trial for the federal charges is scheduled for May 2025, and if convicted, he could face a life sentence.
The lawsuits not only target Combs but also implicate his businesses, alleging that they played a role in facilitating his abusive actions. As the legal battles continue, the spotlight remains on Combs and the impact these serious allegations could have on his legacy.
