Nintendo of America has filed a lawsuit against a company in Rhode Island for enabling individuals to illegally download video games.
Tropic Haze, LLC is located in Warwick.
The company developed a software named Yuzu that allows users to play unauthorized games on the Nintendo Switch.
In a 41-page complaint submitted to the U.S. District Court, Nintendo stated that Yuzu simplifies bypassing protections that aim to prevent unauthorized downloading and playing of their games.
Nintendo requested a court order to stop the software from being marketed or manufactured, along with seeking financial damages.
