Mikey Madison Texts Demi Moore After Beating Her at the 2025 Oscars

Mikey Madison Texts Demi Moore After Oscars Win

The 2025 Oscars delivered one of the biggest upsets of the night when Mikey Madison, 25, won Best Actress for her performance in Anora. While the young actress celebrated her unexpected victory, she made sure to reach out to a fellow nominee who had been a frontrunner throughout the awards season—Demi Moore.

Madison shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on March 4 that she exchanged messages with Moore after the ceremony. The Substance star had been widely expected to take home the award for her role in Coralie Fargeat’s body horror film. Despite the competition, the two actresses shared nothing but admiration for each other.

Madison’s Message to Moore

Following her emotional speech on the Oscars stage, Madison was quick to send a message to Moore, expressing her appreciation.

“I texted with Demi, who I adore,” Madison said. “She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her brilliance and talent in person. I adore her, and I can’t wait to see what she does next, what kind of characters she brings us. I think we’re all so ready and excited to see that.”

Madison’s heartfelt words highlighted the mutual respect between the two actresses, both of whom had been recognized with major wins throughout the awards season. While Moore secured a Critics Choice Award for The Substance, Madison took home a BAFTA for Anora before ultimately winning the Oscar.

Celebrating with Fellow Nominees

Madison wasn’t just excited about her own win—she also shared a special moment with I’m Still Here star Fernando Torres. After her victory, she met up with Torres and exchanged a celebratory hug.

As a first-time Oscar nominee and winner, Madison triumphed over a strong field that included Cynthia Erivo for Wicked and Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez. In addition to her Best Actress win, Anora was a dominant force at the 97th Academy Awards, securing five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Sean Baker.

Demi Moore’s Response

Moore, 62, also had nothing but praise for Madison. The veteran actress took to Instagram on March 3 to reflect on her Oscars journey, sharing behind-the-scenes moments of her getting ready for the event alongside her team and beloved dog, Pilaf.

“As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey,” Moore wrote, thanking the cast, crew, and fans of The Substance. She also acknowledged her fellow nominees, showing grace and appreciation despite missing out on the Best Actress trophy.

Ending her post on a positive note, Moore congratulated Madison directly: “A huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next .”

A Moment to Reflect

For Madison, the reality of being an Oscar winner had not quite set in just yet. Less than 24 hours after her big win, she described the experience as almost dreamlike.

“I’m still kind of floating in a dreamlike state,” she admitted. “It was a very, very surreal night—very interesting and obviously, celebratory and wonderful. But I think that I need time to really digest the magnitude of it.”

With her historic win, Madison has cemented herself as one of Hollywood’s brightest rising stars. As for Moore, fans eagerly anticipate what she will bring to the screen next. One thing is certain—the Oscars may be over, but the journey for these talented actresses is far from finished.
