Iga Swiatek Wins Wimbledon 2025 Final with Historic 6-0, 6-0 Victory

Iga Swiatek Wins Wimbledon 2025

Iga Swiatek delivered one of the most dominant performances in Wimbledon history, defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the final on Saturday. The match, which lasted just 57 minutes, marks Swiatek’s first Wimbledon title and her sixth Grand Slam victory overall.

The 24-year-old Polish star became only the second woman in Open Era history to win a Grand Slam final without losing a single game — the last time this happened was when Steffi Graf defeated Natalia Zvereva 6-0, 6-0 in the 1988 French Open final.

Swiatek’s Record-Breaking Performance

Swiatek’s win was the most lopsided women’s Wimbledon final in 114 years. The last time a player won a Wimbledon final without conceding a game was in 1911, when Dorothea Lambert Chambers beat Dora Boothby 6-0, 6-0.

With this win, Swiatek maintains her perfect record in Grand Slam finals — she has now won all six finals she has played in. The world number eight has truly cemented her position as one of the sport’s most consistent champions.

Road to the Title: A Near-Perfect Wimbledon Run

Leading up to the final, Swiatek lost just one set throughout the tournament. Her path to the trophy included straight-set wins over multiple tough opponents. Her impressive grass-court form started two weeks ago when she reached the final at the Bad Homburg Open, showing she had adapted her game to faster surfaces.

Despite grass historically being her weakest surface, Swiatek’s ability to adjust her footwork and timing this season proved crucial. Many tennis analysts had doubted her ability to dominate on grass, but this win silenced all critics.

Anisimova’s Upset Win Over Sabalenka Raised Expectations

Amanda Anisimova, seeded 13th and playing her first Grand Slam final, was seen as a strong challenger after her stunning semifinal win over world number one Aryna Sabalenka. However, nerves and the scorching conditions on Centre Court appeared to get the better of the 22-year-old American.

Anisimova was broken in her very first service game. Despite some resistance in her second game, she committed a costly double fault to go down 3-0. Swiatek continued to pressure her opponent, eventually closing out the first set 6-0 in just 25 minutes.

Swiatek Maintains Momentum into Second Set

There was little let-up from Swiatek in the second set. Her precise baseline hitting and relentless energy left Anisimova with no room to breathe. The American looked increasingly frustrated as the games slipped away. In the end, Swiatek secured a rare “double bagel” victory (6-0, 6-0), becoming one of only a handful of players in Grand Slam history to do so in a final.

A Grass-Court Breakthrough for the Clay Queen

Known for her dominance on clay courts — particularly at Roland Garros, where she’s a four-time champion — Swiatek’s Wimbledon win signals her evolution into a complete player across all surfaces. She has now won Grand Slam titles on clay, hard, and grass courts, showcasing her adaptability and resilience.

Experts like former champion Chris Evert have praised Swiatek’s maturity and work ethic, noting that her tactical game and physical endurance are now rivaling the best in the sport across all conditions.

What’s Next for Swiatek?

With this win, Swiatek not only adds to her legacy but also sends a message to her rivals. While Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina have posed strong competition this season, Swiatek has shown she remains a force to be reckoned with — especially when it matters most.

Looking ahead, the tennis world will be watching to see how she performs in the upcoming US Open. With this historic Wimbledon triumph, Swiatek has shown she’s ready to dominate across the board.
