Cloud Computing and Its Relevance in The World Going Forward

What is The Future of Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is the complex process of creating infrastructures to help provide software services to individuals and businesses remotely. The trend of remote assistance and remote work has seen an upward trend due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic left companies scrambling to find new ways to stay relevant.

Moving to the cloud was one way of providing critical services without needing a scattered physical presence. Instead, businesses could provide services remotely with a central hub of infrastructure and microservices being provided by third parties like Jfrog, with their array of solutions. Companies can now perform resource-heavy services such as storage, networking & computing remotely without needing heavy servers.

Cloud computing is not new, but it has seen a change of fortunes. So what changed and gave impetus to cloud computing to become a force to be reckoned with? Forbes predicted this upward trend four years ago, saying cloud computing could comprise 83% of the total workload of enterprises. All in all, applications and businesses can sit back and maintain a minimum footprint while outsourcing the heavy lifting to others.

Going Forward – The Future of Cloud Computing

As mentioned above, the future of cloud computing looks promising, with the consumption of this technology increasing with each passing day. Subsequently, this surge in the importance of cloud computing has significantly impacted the job market. The job market reacts to changes around it and adapts to cater to fill employment gaps.

As we advance, cloud computing is sure to rattle some minds and cause some disruption to the current status quo. While there will be more positives than negatives, this disruption will surely cause some ripples in the job market. Let’s analyze the current trends of cloud computing to predict its future and effects on the job market.

1. Remote Storage – Reduced Bottlenecks

Data is the most prized possession these days, yet it has problems. Data has become so abundant that its storage has become a serious issue. Many companies have started cloud computing services to let others store data on their servers for a premium. It will ensure all-time data availability, and you can access it even remotely.

2. Boosting B2B Modes

Business-to-business (B2B) dealings will only increase with the shift to cloud storage becoming a norm rather than an anomaly. The job market will soon shift to B2B working modes as more companies look to store their data offsite. It means leaner operations and physical footprints and thus requires a smaller workforce than before. Businesses will earn a premium by providing servers and remote infrastructure for companies.

3. Cost-Efficient – Less Hardware

When servers are available offsite, you don’t need to pay for such infrastructure and host it in your office space. It will dramatically decrease the cost of doing business and your operation costs. Also, the initial investment to move to this remote-server solution will ultimately afford you plenty of savings to invest elsewhere. The companies will grow towards a more software-centric model than the current hardware-oriented one.

4. Scalability

The cloud computing environment is highly scalable, with a huge promise to solve enterprise issues. The critical bottleneck, the hardware side of things, gets resolved in one swift motion. The serverless regime makes sure you don’t need expensive hardware in-built at your office to afford to provide excellent services to your clients. Moreover, you can only buy as much storage as you need, while upgrading it along the line as your needs for storage increase. The popularity of cloud computing is for everyone to see, and the data speaks for itself. The estimated return of this industry in five years is a whopping  597 billion US Dollars

The Drivers to a Digital World

With its sweeping new regime, cloud computing is the new IT thing in the new digital age. While it may hold one first glance, a deeper analysis shows there may be two interconnected factors that are driving us toward the digital age. What is more interesting is both these factors rely on cloud computing to complete their objective.

The first of these driving factors is the convenience and experience of customers with the service provider. Everyone these days aspires for a smooth experience and comfort while availing of a service such as a serverless cloud computing system. For the system to benefit the customer, it has to be efficient, secure from cyber-security, and usable remotely without any hitch.

Lastly, another thing that has dominated the minds of businesses and service providers is employee productivity. Since the heavy use of cloud computing in our software-based companies, employee productivity has increased due to remote work. Employees can work on their schedules with flexibility while collaborating with world-leading players to devise solutions for their customers.
