The Hurt Locker – Amazon Prime
This movie, which has won six Oscars, shows what happens to soldiers after the war in a realistic way. Renner plays a soldier who is an expert at disarming bombs and sees the horrors of the war in Iraq. He also shows how hard it is to get back to “normal” life after being in violent and deadly situations. It’s not a true story, but it was based on the experiences of many soldiers around the world.
Wind River
In this scary, mysterious thriller, Renner and Elizabeth Olsen are both in it. Wind River is about an FBI agent who asks a lone hunter to help her solve the murder of a Native American woman on a reservation in Wymong. To find the truth, she has to face a tight-knit community and reveal many dark secrets. That’s why Wind River is one of the best Jeremy Renner movies.

The true story that this comedy is based on is about a group of friends who have been playing a game of Tag for years. Renner, Ed Helms, and Jon Hamm are all friends who get together every year to play the same game they played as kids. Their only goal is to beat the one person who has never lost.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol / Rogue Nation – Star+
Tom Cruise and Rennes both played Brandt in the Mission Impossible movies. In Ghost Protocol, he made his first appearance. Ethan and his team had to go on the run because Ethan was accused of putting a bomb in the Kremlin and had to prove he wasn’t guilty. Later, Renner went back to the Rogue Nation, where Ethan and his team have to stop a group of terrorists who want to kill them. With Tom Cruise, Mission Impossible: ghost Protocol is one of the best Jeremy Renner movies.
The Immigrant – Star+
In this drama, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Renner, and Joaquin Phoenix play two Polish sisters who come to the United States in the 1920s looking for a better life. When they get separated, one of them is tricked and forced to work for a man who takes advantage of his power and says he will help her find her sister.
The Bourne Legacy – Star+
Renner has been a hero in many ways. In this movie with Rachel Weisz, he plays a secret agent who finds out that the organization he works for is trying to kill all agents to keep the truth about their operations from getting out. He must find a way to survive with the help of a doctor, who is the only one who can help him get what he needs.
North Country – HBO Max
This brutal movie starring Renner and Charlize Theron is based on a true story and got two Oscar nominations. Tierra Fra is the story of a single mother who has to work for a mining company to support her family. There, she is sexually harassed and abused, and when she realizes that she is not the only one, she decides to file the first sexual harassment lawsuit in the United States, fighting against the system and their own coworkers to get justice and safety.
Captain America: Civil War – Disney+
This is one of the best MCU movies after Thor: Ragnarok because it shows the Avengers fighting against themselves. When the Avengers cause a “disaster,” the government wants to control them and make very strict rules for superheroes. This splits the group, and everyone fights for what they think is right. Black Panther makes his first appearance in the movie Civil War.
Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame – Disney+
Some of the biggest movies in the MCU are Infinity War and Endgame, which made history by making billions of dollars at the box office and killing off some of the world’s best heroes. This was the end of one of the best parts of the MCU, but it was also the start of a new era in which many of the “secondary” characters became the main characters. Hawkeye didn’t get his own movie, but he did get a family series in which many secrets from his and his wife’s pasts are revealed. The series is kind of like a Christmas story. Renner’s character is dealing with the death of her best friend and the consequences of her actions, which include facing Yelena Belova and an old enemy who can be very dangerous.
