Australian spinner Adam Zampa has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing pacer Mitchell Starc to become Australia’s leading wicket-taker in ICC T20 World Cup history.
Zampa reached this landmark during Australia’s ICC T20 World Cup match against Namibia at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
A Record-Breaking Spell
In a dominating performance, Zampa delivered a spellbinding 4/12 in his four overs, maintaining an economy rate of 3.00. His crucial wickets, including that of star all-rounder David Wiese, played a pivotal role in dismantling the Namibian batting lineup.
With this spell, Zampa now boasts 31 wickets in 17 T20 World Cup matches, at an impressive average of 11.93 and an economy rate of 5.96. His best bowling figures stand at 5/19.
