The filming for Virgin River season 5 was finally done at the end of November 2022, and the episode is now in the post-production phase. This could take up to six months, which would put us in May of 2023. But we’re still expecting it to come out in the summer of 2023.
After the first two seasons of Virgin River did well when they came out in July, it’s unlikely that Netflix will move the romantic drama to a different time of year. We can always hope that the game will come out sooner. You just don’t know!

Barbara Pollard joined the cast of Virgin River season 4 as Melissa Montgomery. She is one of the newest members of the cast. Fans know her as the head of Emerald Lumber, but after it was revealed that she is the sister of Nick (the guy who invested in Jack’s dream of growing a mobile home business), she may be looking for someone new. Nick’s money comes from the family business, so Melissa may have something against our favorite bartender that she’s not telling us.
“Jack might have trouble if Nick and Melissa get involved in this glamping business,” Alexandra Breckenridge told TVLine about Melissa’s future in Virgin River. “I don’t know what her plan is yet. She clearly doesn’t mean well, and I’m not sure if Nick doesn’t know what Melissa is doing or if he does. He seems like a very nice person. I’m sure his wife has no idea what’s going on. She probably would have told everyone by now.”
When is the Release Date for Virgin River Season 5?
The Netflix show was given the go-ahead at the same time as Virgin River season 4 and is already being made. Martin Henderson posted a picture from the set to Instagram, and the caption makes it sound like he’s ready to get back into Jack’s world.
On July 19, he wrote from his trailer, “Jack’s back!” “Day 1 of filming Virgin River season 5, and it feels good to be back in Jack’s shoes. I hope y’all enjoy the Virgin River season 4.
We don’t know when will come out just yet. Since new seasons of the show have always come out in the summer, we can expect Virgin River season 5 to come out on Netflix in the summer of 2023.

The main character in the romantic drama shows Virgin River, Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who is going through a hard time in her life. Mel is a nurse practitioner and a midwife. Even though it hasn’t been said for sure yet, we think that Virgin River season 5 will have 12 episodes. This would be like the fourth season, which had more episodes than the first three, which each had ten.
The exact number of episodes in Season Five of the Netflix show Virgin River has not been announced yet. The first three seasons of the show have a total of ten episodes, while season 4 has a total of twelve episodes. So, we can assume that Virgin River season 5 will also have 10 to 12 episodes.
The Virgin River season 1 was shown for the first time on December 6, 2019, and only on Netflix. The Virgin River season 2 came out on November 27, 2020. At the end of the Virgin River season 4, we discovered that Doc’s grandson, Denny, has a disease called Huntington’s. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tim Matheson, who plays Doc, said that this news will, of course, affect his own character: “Most doctors think, ‘I could take care of this.’ There is that difference. But what’s great is that Hope has invited Denny into their home and made him a part of it. Even though he needs medical treatment, maybe even more than that, being surrounded by love is just as important as getting medical care.
We also saw Brie confront her abusive ex, Don. “Without giving anything away, I can say that Brie is someone who does what she says she will do. “I can’t say where that will take her,” Zibby Allen told TODAY. She also told People about her relationship with Brady, “I really hope that they figure out how to navigate something real.” “Don’t you think they’re so different? They have different backgrounds. So the big question is, “Can they make it last and have a real day-to-day relationship?”
Not to mention what might be the biggest surprise of Virgin River season 5: Charmaine telling Jack that the twins aren’t his, right after Mel told Jack that he’s the father of her baby. Is one of them making a joke? Is Jack expecting one biological child or three? (In interviews for the show, Henderson said, “We’ll give him Mel’s baby, but Charmaine’s babies are not his. He said, “You’ll find out more about why Charmaine has been lying in season five.”)
When was Virgin River Season 5 Renewed on Netflix?
For those who don’t know, Virgin River was picked up for another two seasons after its third season. That means we’ve known for a long time that there would be a Virgin River season 5.
Two-season orders are not new, but they don’t happen very often.
In an interview, Netflix’s head of drama said Virgin River “has some of the most attractive economics for a TV series with a very high return on investment because it costs a lot less to make than special effects-heavy productions.”

As we said in early 2022, Virgin River season 5 was supposed to start filming in March 2022. That was then pushed back to July 2022, but even those dates were subject to change and did change in the end.
