Telegram and Instagram are highly popular applications among young people, who use these apps to share content, maintain connections, and form communities based on shared interests. Instagram is known for its diverse range of features and continually introduces updates to enhance the user experience. Telegram has recently announced an upcoming feature that bears similarity to a feature already present on Instagram.
Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, recently made an announcement regarding the upcoming addition of a feature similar to Instagram Stories on the app. In a message shared on his channel, Durov stated that this new feature would be introduced next month. Notably, other popular apps like Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have already incorporated Stories into their platforms and have found success with it. Durov also emphasized Telegram’s aim to introduce new functionalities while providing users with detailed privacy controls.
Telegram Stories, according to the post, will be accessible at the top of the screen in a bar that will not take up much screen space. Users will be able to post photographs and videos recorded with both the front and back cameras at the same time, similar to how the app’s ‘Video Messages’ function works.
You have the option to hide stories from specific people by adding them to the ‘Hidden’ list in the ‘Contacts’ section. Telegram Stories will also provide detailed controls, allowing you to share stories with everyone, including people in your contact list with a few exceptions, selected contacts, or a list of close friends. The main difference is that Instagram automatically removes stories after 24 hours, while on Telegram, users can choose between 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours, or keep them permanently displayed on their profile. Telegram Stories are currently in the final testing phase and will be available to everyone in early July.
