Raveena Tandon Not Drunk: Mumbai Police Clears False Complaint

raveena tandon false drunk complaint

On Sunday, the Mumbai Police clarified that a false complaint was filed against actress Raveena Tandon.

The complaint, lodged with the Khar Police, accused Tandon of being drunk, engaging in rash driving, and committing assault.

However, upon investigation, it was revealed that these allegations were baseless.

The Incident Unfolds

The situation began when Tandon’s driver was reversing her car into their society premises while a family was crossing the same lane.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9, “The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if people were behind the car before reversing, and an argument started between them.” As the argument escalated, it involved abusive language and heightened tensions.

Raveena Tandon Steps In

Raveena Tandon, upon hearing the commotion, came to check on her driver and tried to de-escalate the situation.

She intervened to protect her driver from the crowd that had gathered. Despite her efforts, the mob began abusing her, further intensifying the conflict.

False Complaint and Clarification

Both Raveena Tandon and the family involved went to the Khar Police Station to file their complaints but later chose to withdraw them.

DCP Rajtilak Roshan explained, “Both Raveena Tandon and the family gave written complaints but subsequently submitted letters stating they did not want to register any complaints.”

Raveena Tandon took to social media platform X to share a post from ‘Viral Bhayani,’ which highlighted that the complaint was false.

The post stated that CCTV footage was reviewed, which clearly showed that Tandon’s car did not hit anyone, and she was not drunk at the time of the incident.

Police Investigation and Statements

DCP Rajtilak Roshan confirmed, “We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress’s driver was reversing the car from the road into the society when this family was crossing the same lane.

The complainant gave a false complaint in the alleged video. Nobody was injured in this incident, and the car did not hit anyone. The actress was not drunk.”

In another screenshot shared by Raveena Tandon, the Mumbai Police was quoted in an online portal, stating that both parties denied making any complaints.

The police clarified, “Tandon’s driver was trying to reverse the car to park it, and three people from a family felt that they would get hit.

After the argument, both parties left, and later, police reached the spot and questioned Tandon’s staff.

The other party was also called to the police station. Both parties denied making any complaints.”

Social Media Reactions

The incident garnered significant attention on social media platforms, with videos of the altercation going viral.

In these videos, Raveena Tandon can be seen trying to calm the situation while being surrounded by people. At one point, she can be heard saying, “Don’t hit me,” as the crowd pushed and shoved around her.

On the Professional Front

Despite the incident, Raveena Tandon continues to focus on her professional commitments. She recently received praise for her performance in the Disney+ Hotstar courtroom drama ‘Patna Shuklla,’ where she starred alongside the late Satish Kaushik and Manav Vij.

Looking ahead, she is set to appear in the much-anticipated film ‘Welcome 3.’ This star-studded film includes notable actors like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, and Paresh Rawal.

The Mumbai Police’s clarification puts to rest the false allegations made against Raveena Tandon. The incident underscores the importance of verifying facts before jumping to conclusions, especially in the age of social media, where misinformation can spread rapidly.

As the situation resolves, Tandon’s focus remains on her career and upcoming projects, continuing to entertain her fans with her remarkable talent.
