Soumitra Chatterjee’s Neurological Function in Worst State
The health condition of legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee is deteriorating rapidly, according to sources at Belle Vue Clinic. His brain has almost stopped working, Hindustan Times reports quoting doctors.
The Indian veteran actor was admitted to the South Kolkata private hospital on October 5 after he tested Covid-19 positive. on Friday, after more than a month, his situation has reached its worst level since his admission. He has been in ventilation support since the end of last month. Not only the brain but the actor’s heart, his kidney condition is not well. This is the first time the actor has to use different support to control his blood pressure. The actor’s heart rate has gone up.
The EEG report of Soumitra has found that his brain activity is low. His brain’s nervous awareness means the Glasgow coma scale has dropped to just 5.

“Soumitra Chatterjee’s kidneys are not working well, and dialysis is being carried out,” said Dr. Arindam Kar, head of the medical board treating Soumitra. “Things could get worse in the next 24 hours. For the first time, we are anticipating adverse results. We’re trying to give the best but our best may not be enough for his body,” he added.
The actor’s health condition has not improved since yesterday’s ‘first round’ plasma therapy. Earlier on Wednesday, Soumitra Babu had undergone a tracheotomy. In the process, the tracheostomy tube is installed in the trachea.
