If you tried to scroll through Twitter on Saturday and were faced with the message “rate limit exceeded,” there’s a reason, but it’s not nice. Elon Musk temporarily limits Twitter users – this news is spreading quickly. However, we are approaching the exact news behind this.
In reaction to “extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation,” Elon Musk, executive chair, and CTO, selected a holiday weekend to impose new daily constraints for users, significantly hampering the site’s functionality.
Elon Musk Temporarily Limits Twitter Users: Inside Story
For as long as he chooses, confirmed users are limited to viewing 6000 posts per day, unverified accounts to 600 posts per day, and unverified accounts new to the site to 300 posts per day.
Many people have complained, but Musk appears unconcerned.
According to NBC’s coverage of the restrictions, “Twitter responded to CNBC’s request for comment with its customary poop emoji.”
