Streaming platforms are rolling out aggressive Black Friday promotions to attract new subscribers, with discounts reaching up to 73% off standard pricing across major services. The 2025 deals mark some of the deepest price cuts in the industry’s history, as services compete for viewers during the peak subscription season.
Disney+ and Hulu Bundle Slashed to $4.99 Monthly
The Walt Disney Company is offering a combined Disney+ and Hulu package for just $4.99 per month for one year, representing more than 60% off the regular $12.99 monthly price. This ad-supported bundle is available to new subscribers and eligible returning customers through disneyplus.com, though current subscribers to Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select, or ESPN Unlimited don’t qualify. The promotional rate applies for 12 months before reverting to standard pricing unless canceled.
For viewers seeking more content, Disney also introduced a triple-service bundle featuring Disney+ (with ads), Hulu (with ads), and ESPN Unlimited for $29.99 per month during the first year—a savings exceeding 44%.
HBO Max Offers 73% Discount at $2.99 Monthly
HBO Max, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, unveiled its most competitive Black Friday offer to date, pricing its Basic with Ads plan at $2.99 per month for 12 months. This represents a 73% reduction from the standard $10.99 monthly rate and saves subscribers $96 over the promotional year. The deal is available until December 1 for new and returning users through HBOMax.com and partner platforms including Google, Roku, Samsung, and Amazon Fire TV.
After Warner Bros. Discovery raised prices in October, this promotion provides particularly strong value for viewers seeking access to HBO’s premium content library, including original series and theatrical releases.
Peacock and Paramount+ Slash Annual Subscriptions
Peacock, owned by Comcast, is offering its Premium service for $19.99 annually until December 1—a steep discount from the regular $79.99 price. Additionally, Walmart+ subscribers gain complimentary access to Peacock Premium through a bundle priced at $49 annually. Members can switch between Peacock and Paramount+ once every 90 days as part of this package.
Paramount+ is cutting its annual plan price by 50% from the standard $59.99, and the service is also accessible through the Walmart+ bundle. The streaming platform offers its Essential ad-supported tier at no additional cost for Walmart+ members.
Additional Streaming Services Join Price War
Starz launched one of the most aggressive promotions, offering a full year of service for just $11.99—an 83% discount from standard annual pricing. Smaller streaming platforms are also participating, with AMC+ available for $1.75 monthly for two months, CuriosityStream at $1.25 monthly for two months, and Hallmark+ priced at $2 monthly for two months.
YouTube TV is offering $30 off the first three months of service with a five-day free trial, while Sling TV has reduced its Day Pass to $1 from $4.99. These promotions represent the streaming industry’s most concentrated effort to capture new subscribers during the holiday shopping season.
