Lovers of old comics are aware that the title contains more information than it appears at first look. Teyonah Parris is also expected to appear in the future film as the adult Monica Rambeau (aka Spectrum), whom we originally saw in WandaVision. First and foremost, the title implies that Ms. Marvel will appear in the forthcoming film. Ms. Marvel will have her own Disney+ series.
But Who are The Marvels Really?
According to canon, the phrase “The Marvels” has referred to a group of superhuman heroes in the Marvel universe since the 1930s, when Captain Marvel and Shazam were the same characters. Therefore, it does not relate to a superteam like the Avengers.
In 1994, Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross created The Marvels to bring back Marvel’s past by telling the stories of various characters through the eyes of a journalist named Phil Sheldon, who helped reinvent different stories like the introduction of the Human Torch and the death of General Stacy at the hands of the Green Goblin, giving fans a chance to be surprised again with new takes on the events that marked the beginning of Marvel’s current era.
The moniker “The Marvels” seems to be being used for something different than the impending Captain Marvel sequel. Possible motivations include expanding MCU’s reach and enticing more viewers to the multiplex.

The first “Marvels” cartoon included a cast that included Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., and Uncle Marvel. Even though “The Marvels” aren’t mentioned anywhere in the MCU, they could be the catalyst for introducing a new family of characters as opposed to a team of characters in the future. But the members need not be related to one another blood-wise.
Given that Monica shares a mother with Carol Danvers, a “sisterhood” amongst the three heroes scheduled to appear in the film is not out of the question, even if it is based on the genetics that endowed Monica with her superpowers.
The Marvels were a group of characters whose names featured “Marvel,” but this wasn’t necessary for them, so it’s likely that the plot will show us Carol assembling her own family of heroes and heroines to support her. so that the entire universe can be kept intact.
When are We going to See The Marvels?
The Marvels will premiere on November 10, 2023, after multiple delays.
We will undoubtedly see a trailer towards the end of the next year. It will reveal whether the theory that a new family of superheroes exists or whether “The Marvels” is a misnomer. Marvel may not be doing what everyone believes they are, based on what they have already accomplished.
With the release of The Marvels, the MCU will expand thanks to the Loki series and other films that have already been announced for the upcoming years.
