10 Best EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Teachers get pitched a new app almost every week. Few have time to sort real classroom help from sales talk. A short list of trusted edtech podcasts and newsletters for educators saves hours and keeps your inbox calm.

I’m working as the Chief Technical Advisor at Edutorial. We build Alphabet Magic: Trace & Phonics, a letter-tracing and phonics app for young kids, also on Google Play. When you build for five-year-olds, you learn to separate what helps a child learn from what just looks fun. I used that same filter here.

Every pick below was still publishing in 2026. I dropped shows that had gone quiet.

How I Chose These EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

I kept four rules:

  • Still active: New episodes or issues in 2026.
  • Useful on Monday morning: Ideas a teacher can try, not just industry gossip. (Two picks break this rule on purpose.)
  • Honest about sponsors: Sponsored content is fine if it’s labeled.
  • Fits a busy week: Short formats got extra points.

Not all edtech podcasts and newsletters for educators will suit every reader. A kindergarten teacher and a district tech lead need different things, so I’ve noted who each one is for.

The 10 Best EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators in 2026

1. Cult of Pedagogy: The Best All-Round Pick of EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Jennifer Gonzalez’s show isn’t only about tech, and that’s why it’s first. Tech advice without good teaching behind it is useless. The show has been running since 2014 and has passed 300 episodes.

Right now she’s running a Back to Basics series on unit planning. The mid-September 2026 episode covers building realistic differentiation into a sample unit. Many episodes also come as written posts on her site, which helps if you’d rather skim than listen.

For pure edtech, find her yearly tools roundup. The 2026 edition, recorded with her lead tech specialist Marnie Diem, covers six tools, including STEM interactives and a free web-based sound editor.

2. Easy EdTech Podcast: The Most Practical of the EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

If you want one thing to try tomorrow, start here. Dr. Monica Burns of Class Tech Tips releases a new episode every Tuesday, either solo or with a guest. Late August 2026 brought ten ideas for using AI in classroom book studies, and early September covered using Gemini notebooks in class.

Easy EdTech Podcasts with Monica Burns

One episode stood out to me as someone who builds for young kids. It shows how early childhood and elementary students can build basic AI literacy skills like pattern spotting and prediction without touching generative AI tools. That matches how I think about kids’ apps. Young learners need the idea first, not the chatbot.

3. Ditch That Textbook: The Biggest Weekly Newsletter Among EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Matt Miller taught high school Spanish for over a decade before this became his full-time work. His blog and email newsletter reach more than 140,000 educators every week.

Issues are friendly and full of free stuff. A July 2026 issue offered a free guide with templates, screen-free games, AI prompts, and NotebookLM tips. Expect some promotion of his courses and events. The free material is still worth the inbox space.

4. Edutopia’s Newsletters: Research-Backed EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Edutopia doesn’t do a podcast I’d put on this list, but its newsletters earn a spot. Two are worth a free account:

  • The Wired Classroom is a monthly tech newsletter on how teachers use technology to save time and improve assessment.
  • The Research Is In is a monthly roundup of education research with classroom uses.

You need a free Edutopia account to subscribe, and content is tailored to your role and grade level. Set your grade level correctly, or you’ll get a lot of high school content you don’t need.

5. EdSurge: The Journalism Side of EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

EdSurge Audio Journalism

Most picks here are opinions and tips. EdSurge is reporting. This Week with EdSurge is a weekly show hosted by Ira Apfel with the EdSurge reporting team. A September 2026 episode looked at how teachers are coping with new screen time guidance and phone laws that weren’t written with them in mind.

Pair it with the weekly PreK–12 newsletter, which carries reporting for teachers and school leaders.

6. Science of Reading: The Podcast, a Literacy Pick for EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

This one isn’t strictly edtech. I include it because a reading app is only as good as the reading science behind it. For anyone judging a phonics app, including me, this is required listening.

Host Susan Lambert is chief academic officer of literacy at Amplify and a former classroom teacher. A summer 2026 miniseries focused on adolescent literacy. Keep in mind that Amplify sells curriculum. The guests are strong but know who runs the show.

7. 10-Minute Teacher: The Quickest of the EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Episodes run about 10 minutes and cover AI in plain English, edtech, and classroom topics. Host Vicki Davis is an AP Computer Science teacher who has hosted the show since 2017. Good for a short drive to school.

8. Edtech Insiders: The Industry View of EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

This is one of my rule-breakers. It’s aimed at founders and investors, but curious teachers get a lot from it. It runs deep interviews with edtech leaders plus weekly news episodes hosted by Ben Kornell and Alex Sarlin, and a Substack newsletter lands twice a month.

EdTech Insiders Podcast-Newsletter-Events

Why listen as a teacher? You learn why tools change prices, get bought, or disappear. One August 2026 news episode covered ChatGPT for Teens, a new $265M Reach Capital fund, and the B2B versus B2C debate. That last topic is personal for us. We sell Alphabet Magic mainly to parents, not schools, and it’s free to download with in-app purchases. If business models confuse you, read our breakdown of how edtech startups make money.

9. The EdTech Podcast: A Global Voice in EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Working from Dhaka, I value shows that don’t assume every school is in the US. Sophie Bailey founded this UK show in 2016, and Philippa Wraithmell now hosts it. June 2026 episodes covered AI and a new education divide between countries and career guidance for students.

The newest episodes I found were from late June 2026, so check the feed before you subscribe. For more on this angle, see our look at edtech trends in emerging markets.

10. AI for Admins: For School Leaders Among EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

AI For Admins Free Newsletter and Podcast By Matt Miller

Also from Matt Miller, this free newsletter is for anyone helping a school or district make AI decisions, and it comes with a discussion community. Classroom teachers can skip it. Principals and tech coordinators shouldn’t.

Where to Start With EdTech Podcasts and Newsletters for Educators

Don’t subscribe to all ten. Pick by your situation:

  • New teacher: Cult of Pedagogy plus Edutopia.
  • Short on time: 10-minute teacher plus Ditch That Textbook.
  • Early years or reading teacher: Science of Reading plus Easy EdTech.
  • Tech coach or leader: EdSurge, Edtech Insiders, and AI for Admins.

Final Thoughts

The best edtech podcasts and newsletters for educators do one job: they help you decide faster. Pick one podcast and one newsletter from this list. Give them a month. If you haven’t used a single idea by then, unsubscribe and try another.

Good tools only matter if they change what happens in class or at home. If you want the bigger picture, read about how edtech will transform everyday life.
